Other main stars include Ben Miller, Ardal O'Hanlon, Kris Marshall, and Ralf Little. Don Warrington, who plays Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, recently returned after a seemingly permanent exit from the show last season. The latest series continues DI Wilson's journey on the fictional island of Saint Marie, where he navigates life and tries to reconnect with his half-brother, Solomon, played by Daniel Ward. Gilet describes their relationship as "opposite in every way," adding a layer of complexity to the show.
Death in Paradise remains a favorite among BBC viewers, attracting a substantial audience of five to six million per episode. In 2022, it spawned a spin-off titled Beyond Paradise, with its most recent episode airing over the 2025 Christmas period. The spin-off stars Kris Marshall and Sally Bretton, continuing the detective adventures in a new setting.
